I have been working on creating a website and I used Google Fonts for the text. But when I viewed my website on Internet Explorer it didn’t render the Google Font from my CSS. This was not a surprise considering Internet Explorer never works properly anyhow. I did a little digging and some research. I font this code:

<meta http-equiv=”X-UA-Compatible” content=”IE=8″ />

I entered this tag in the head of my html along with my Google Font tag and link tag to my CSS (@fontface) and it works now. I was so happy to find this and hope that it helps others out there who are trying to design websites that are cross browser compatible without the limitations of Internet Explorer. So below I have pasted some of what my HTML looks like to kind of help. If you have any questions, please leave a comment.

<meta http-equiv=”X-UA-Compatible” content=”IE=8″ />

<link rel=”stylesheet” href=”style.css”>
<link href=’http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Berkshire+Swash&#8217; rel=’stylesheet’ type=’text/css’>
